Project Examples

Requirements

Starting this September, 4th-year business students working in teams of 4-5 will spend 400+ hours per group working on an analytics project of your choosing over 13 weeks.

Based on an internal data set from your organization (e.g., CRM, web or transaction data), the teams will work to understand your decision context, visualize the data through creating new metrics and/or merging some public external data, and apply analytics methods to generate the most relevant managerial insights.

Past projects include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying patterns in railcar maintenance records, which are of unstructured text.
  • Building profiles of different donor segments based on their donation probability.
  • Predicting retail sales if a new outlet is added to a chain.
  • Testing the potential relation between eCOmmerce sales and weather.
