Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

We are ready to take our business to the next level. Our company requires some assistance is assessing our customer landscape outside of our current territory. We want to learn more about customer’s expectations and behaviours in suggested new regions. It is important for us to stay up to date on industry standards to ensure that we research new locations fully and completely before choosing to enter. We have some ideas of where we would like to go but we need to make sure that we consider all available options before making a decision.

Our specific need is an outline of our industry’s expansion opportunities through a location analysis. This report should include an optimal location recommendation list.

To consider: which markets align with our current one? Where are there buyers that we have yet to reach? What are the pros and cons to expanding our operations? What potential competitors exist in new locations? What legal protocol will need to be considered?

We would like this to be partnered with some primary data collection; surveys and research into our present and future consumer to gather insights into buying behaviours and expansion expectations. These should supplement the location recommendations.

About the company

Founded by Ameen Fadel, at the age of 16 in Lakeshore, Ontario, Cedar Valley Selections began with the creation of Canada’s FIRST bottled Fattoush Salad Dressing. With a small grant from Ameen’s school board and his mom’s signature recipe, he had all he needed to begin his venture.

Following over a year of product development, testing, and sampling with Ameen's high school teachers, Cedar Valley Selections’ Signature Fattoush Dressing was ready. After just selling to family and friends, Ameen approached his first local deli in Belle River, ON and had finally brought Canada its very first bottled Fattoush Dressing. To pair with the dressing, Cedar Valley also manufactures pita chips. Currently there is a line up of 7 dressings/marinades and 3 flavours of pita chips. All products are clean label, preservative-free, using only healthy oils and fresh ingredients. We are in stores across Canada, on e-commerce and in the food service industry.
