Hi, I’m Ayan Shakeel. I am a passionate Honours Bachelor of Mathematics (Co-op) student at the University of Waterloo. I am developing my skills in programming, data analysis, statistical modelling, and problem-solving, applying them to both academic projects and real-world challenges.
I enjoy working with Python to explore computational models and data-driven solutions. Some of my projects include creating a collision forecasting model, an insurance premium calculator, and a custom UI/UX interface, which have helped me build a deeper understanding of mathematical modelling, software development, and user-centred design. Beyond coding, I thrive in environments that encourage critical thinking, adaptability, and collaboration, which I have cultivated through my involvement in VEX Robotics competitions and various student organizations.
Outside of technical work, I have a passion for mentoring and teaching, which I have pursued as an Education Facilitator and Academic Mentor, helping students grasp complex concepts and improve their skills. I also stay engaged in the Waterloo Data Science and Actuarial Science Clubs, where I explore applications of mathematics in different industries.
I’m always eager to learn, grow, and take on new challenges, whether through developing software, analyzing data, designing user-friendly interfaces, or solving mathematical problems. I look forward to opportunities where I can continue building my skills and making meaningful contributions.

Marketing Website UI / UX Design & Prototype
Our company would like to explore re-designing our current website with a prototype. We are always on the lookout for innovative and fresh UI and UX ideas that will help our users. This will involve: Conducting background research on our existing web application for the product. We are happy to provide a walkthrough and other resources to help bring them up to speed. Identifying key areas of our current website and what areas of focused might return the best results in a redesign. Learning and using various software design tools. We strongly recommend students learn how to use Figma as this is the latest and greatest tool currently available. Creation of a screen by screen UX / UI prototype of a web application which can be used on all major browsers and be mobile friendly Conducting UX / UI testing with real potential users potentially involving paper prototypes or other software tools to support this

Data-Driven Growth Marketing
CORDAX seeks to enhance its marketing strategy by developing a comprehensive, data-driven growth marketing playbook. The primary goal is to convert inbound interest into qualified sales opportunities effectively. This project will allow learners to apply their knowledge of marketing analytics, customer segmentation, and digital marketing strategies. The team will focus on analyzing existing marketing data to identify key trends and insights. They will then develop a playbook that outlines effective messaging, optimal marketing channels, and efficient sales funnels. The project aims to double the company's monthly recurring revenue while reducing customer acquisition costs. Learners will gain hands-on experience in growth marketing and data analysis, applying classroom knowledge to real-world business challenges.
